Autoimmune haemolytic anaemia

PB MGG (1000×)

Marked anisocytosis and polychromasia (black arrow), numerous spherocytes (red arrow), a neutrophilic band cell on the top left (cyan arrow) and a monocyte (yellow arrow). The unmarked nuclear elements are segmented neutrophils.

PB MGG (1000×)

Marked anisocytosis and polychromasia (black arrow), numerous spherocytes (red arrow), a neutrophilic band cell on the left (cyan arrow) and an erythroblast (yellow arrow). The unmarked nuclear elements are segmented neutrophils. A mature lymphocyte is marked by a green arrow.

BM MGG (200×)

Erythropoiesis predominates in this cell-rich smear; erythropoietic foci are visible in some places.

BM MGG (1000×)

Numerous erythroblasts are present in this smear, some of them are macrocytic, some of them have impaired haemoglobinisation (black arrow). A cytoplasmic bridge between two basophilic erythroblasts is marked by a green arrow, and a neutrophilic myelocyte is marked by a yellow arrow.
