The small cell variant of T-cell prolymphocytic leukaemia is a very rare morphological form of the disease. In peripheral blood smear, neoplastic cells are small lymphocytes with slightly basophilic cytoplasm and very irregular dense nuclear chromatin (yellow arrows). Contrary to classic T-cell prolymphocytic leukaemia, prominent nucleoli are not present.
