The CzEch Leukemia Study Group – for Life, CELL, developed from an independent, voluntary initiative of various professionals devoted to the issue of leukemias. This issue is exceptionally wide ranging and thus does not only involve hematologists as such. Complex care for patients suffering from leukemias and research in this field involves physicians from various specialties, pathologists, microbiologists, molecular biologists, psychologists and others. It is all of these that CELL would like to group within a single platform – improvement of care for patients suffering from leukemias in the Czech Republic and acceleration of research in this field.
CELL was established at a constituent general meeting on April 24, 2006 at the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Prague. Currently, employees from all the major institutions in the Czech Republic are cooperating on various CELL projects. Collaboration with smaller institutions as well as with Slovakia is also getting under way. CELL already has important contacts with a number of institutions and organizations abroad and cooperation with these is one of the principal priorities of CELL.
The principal goals involve the following fields of interest:
Our aim is to deal with these issues complexly, including laboratory and research aspects as well as the patient´s view.
We are aiming high - we want CELL to be an unequivocal power in the field of leukemia not only within the Czech Republic but also worldwide!
